FROM THE VISIONAIRE DESK
“This know also, that in the last days, perilous times shall come; for men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
The above statement credited to Paul in his epistle to Timothy presents the grim reality of the current age which is often referred to in the world parlance as the jet age. Despite this, it is heartwarming to know that the same Apostle Paul proffered solution which serves as a potent anchor for all who have hope beyond here. In the same epistle, he has this to say: “But continue thou in the things which thou has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learnt them; And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which is able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
Inferentially, the above admonition from Paul to Timothy his son in faith serves as fulcrum around which the Vision of the Father’s Love Forum (FLF) revolves. In retrospect, the Father’s Love Forum was conceptualized and born with the sole aim of turning the hearts of youths who hitherto were like sheep without shepherd back to God, and to prepare them for a glorious future. Looking back, since its formation, the Lord has tremendously helped us to build steadily, with bountiful results to show as we stand at the threshold of history to make our own impact as actors in the stage of life. Permit me to reiterate that the vision of the FLF has been tailored.
“To prepare youths for a glorious future through continuous teaching of the Word of truth and encouragement to study, obey and apply the word for their change of levels” (Joshua 1:8).
Prior to the conceptualization and subsequent birth of the forum, my perceptual threshold about the plight of the youths of my generation evoked burden and passion to act fast on vital issue that borders on their destinies. Satan and his agents appear to have captured the souls of youths, blinded their eyes to the true light from the throne of grace and mercy, and deafened their ears through a well-designed packaged strategy. To rescue them from satanic grip, a superior strategy has to be put in place. This is what led to my time, talent and treasure to package a superior strategy through which the youths could profitably channel their energy as well as adventurous spirit.
For instance, I stimulated their reading culture by giving them Christian literatures and other inspirational materials to read. Faith building lectures were also designed and packaged for their spiritual growth with priority attention given to prayers and evangelistic outreaches. To motivate the participants in the forum, free meal is slated for them on Saturdays, while sitting allowance was given to those who attend my inspirational teachings or lectures.Every other activity of the Forum has been structured around this vision from the onset with cardinal emphasis on the word of God, prayer, discipleship evangelism and a walk with the Holy Spirit as their Senior Partner.
Most of the epistles and teachings have dealt extensively on the issues of radiance to Christian life with intent of making participants profitable to themselves and the society at large. The beneficiaries in this forum can no doubt compete favorably with those with good morals elsewhere, having been given adequate exposure through direct mentorship from the founder who in turn draws his daily inspiration from the infallible word of God. My uttermost desire for the youth is to grow in the grace of God through the inspirational messages or teachings from the founder and other leaders within the forum.
It is noteworthy to mention that the strength of the fellowship grew astronomically beyond our imagination because little is much when God is in it, as FLF at the Benue State University (BSU), Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Akure Ondo State and the Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies (NAITES) were born; also a new branch in Abuja and Kano will soon kick start.
Consequently, we set our heart on purchasing a bus for the FLF as a project. God helping us, the project which seemed unachievable was accomplished to the glory of our able God.
With sense of modesty permit me to note that the journey so far has been our Ebenezer (1Sam 7:12). Worthy of note also are the programmes we were led to organize which invariably boosted the numerical growth recorded. More souls have been won through these programmes. On this note, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ which admonishes us that “the harvest is truly plenteous, but the laborers are few” comes to mind. I must say that unity has never been so much fostered as it is now. We incorporate the brothers into cooking weekend meals as against the usual practice of leaving the task to sisters alone.
Guided by this, I will like to enjoin all youths of this generation not to rest on their oars but rather strive to break new grounds for exploits. The above admonition could be predicated on one of Apostle Paul’s epistle which states; “….. what things were gain to me, those I committed loss for Christ yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
The records so far have been impressive and I believe God will help us improve upon it. This is the premise for all documentary works through the Executive members of the Forum in times past. Our present record was set to challenge the upcoming ones to strive to do better and be better. This was why we ruled out that every librarian should be able to study at least 50 Christian literatures and inspirational material books before passing out.
Thus the founder who set this standard as part of his mentorship programme for the youth has been guided by Paul’s admonition to Timothy his son “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed.” The importance of diligent study cannot be overemphasize if the youth must have advantage over others who do not have similar opportunity accorded to them.
Always remember that “freely ye have received, freely give” (Matt:10:18).
Keeping the mandate should not be at your convenience or just when you feel like it. Make it a part of your daily lives. I earnestly look forward to getting results and testimonies from your commitment to this mandate.
I bless you all with the blessings of heaven. May the favour of the Almighty God that adds flavour to a man’s life remove labour far away from you. The angels of the Lord encamp around those who fear him to deliver them. They shall bear you up in their hands lest you strike your foot against the stumbling blocks of life. You shall excel where others failed. The Lord shall turn every stumbling block into stepping stones for you. He shall raise every valley and bring low the mountains before you. May your path continually be a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. I pray that the ever good Lord will make you successful and a solution to your generation in every of your endeavour. Do not forget that “…the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom 8:19).
Shine without limitation and barrier in Jesus’ name.
Remain loyal ambassadors of the kingdom of God wherever and whenever.
Remain ever blessed.
Yours in His Vineyard
